ESOL Educator Conference for Volunteer-Based Programs

3rd Annual
ESOL Educator Conference for Volunteer-Based Programs
Friday, October 21 · 9am to 4pm
The Junior League of Birmingham
The Literacy Council’s ESOL Educator Conference for Volunteer-Based Programs targets organizations and individual volunteers who provide ESOL services in Alabama but often cannot attend state, regional or national TESOL conferences because of budget constraints.
Because over 75% of ESOL programs in The Literacy Council’s service area are small community and faith-based organizations utilizing volunteers, it is important we stay true to our mission to play a key role in strengthening programs that provide literacy services in our community.
The single-day ESOL Educator Conference for Volunteer-Based Programs is a unique annual professional development event for small local and regional ESOL programs. It focuses on bringing together the myriad research and internationally recognized pedagogic talent present in Birmingham to increase knowledge of ESOL best teaching practices across programs in order to maintain high quality instruction for adult English language learners in Central Alabama.
There is a $35 registration fee for the conference, which includes lunch and materials. Please download the form here and send it with a check made out to The Literacy Council by
